I’d let my boss know that I’m happy to fly out the night before but leaving at

2AM to drive 100+ miles to catch a 5AM flight wasn’t going to work. If I was told I had no choice, I’d personally pay the difference to fly out from the closest airport at a normal time. Then I would start looking for a new job with an employer that wasn’t so cheap or strapped for money.
