In today's NBA, wings are the most important role. You want guys who are not only 3 and D, but can also swing a pass or make a move off the dribble when someone is closing out.

They don't have to create, but more than just catch and shoot guys.

And without DFS and Dinwiddie, the Mavs have absolutely none of that. And no defense either.

Kyrie (locker room cancer aside) is an extremely talented player, but this trade leaves the Mavs with a gaping hole...unless they make more moves. So it depends what those moves are.

If they decide they need a defender and so trade 2 unprotected firsts for Kelly Oubre, that's horrid. If they trade 2 seconds for Malik Beasley, then it's great.

Obviously I'd absolutely expect something between those extremes, but it's too early to judge it yet until we see what the rest of the plan is
