I think you'd have to drop FB — there aren't enough good FCS schools. And in other sports, there's no one who invests in other sports like Stanford and Cal.

If you look at that, Stanford and Cal athletic departments would be royally yewted. There's no group that makes sense from an athletic POV outside the WCC and MWC. It would be WCC or MWC or their sports would fall apart.

They don't fit with the Claremont Colleges or SCIAC, other UCs are pretty different, etc.

The one aspect of that that I find sad is that it would be bad for US Olympic teams.
