My sister is 47. She had breast cancer - I’m not versed in the exact names of the cancer, but it was the kind that formed as a result of hormones.
She beat it, had a mastectomy and has been on a clean/organic diet since. But, she developed a crazy cough in December. It wouldn’t go away. After not being satisfied with the typical “it’ll pass” response from her primary care provider, she asked for a cat scan. They found tumors in her lungs, liver, on other parts of her body. Then they scanned her brain and found lesions there too.
Just when you think all is lost, the biopsy came back that it was the same type of hormone caused cancer she had before. The doctors explained there has been excellent breakthroughs in treatment for it and they laid out a plan. They are optimistic and believe she can fight off this round too.
That said - it’s been a rough few weeks for the family. But things are feeling more positive.
Cancer sucks, but I’m grateful for miracles.
God bless those amazing men and women who battle cancer ever day and the wonderful doctors and researchers who help them and their families work through such fear filled times.
