It's because of 3 reasons:
1. PAC 12 is primarily an academic/research school so they also considered Wyoming and Boise St
2. They are a very devout religious conference that LOVES Christians.
3. SMU had the 4th and 5th best losses in college history to TCU and BYU this year. We all know the 3 best losses also belong to a school in this conference. And SDSU and U of U exchanged losses for the 6th and 7th best losses in conf history to each other.
