SMU to the PAC is Houston to the B12.
SMU is a better academic school, but that does not matter.
B12 had DFW with TCU and lost UT and A&M. Houston was the better fit, was playing better fball and has a better bball program by far.
B12 made the right call with Houston, but SMU was probably the next up of the Texas schools. Rice was not an option.
