to be oceanographer I applied to Church College of Hawaii, ASU, and LSU; chose..
.LSU but ended up with an MLS from BYU; my Dad was so mad when he learned I never applied to BYU out of HS (no parent, sibling, leader, or counselor gave any advice)
CCH gave me a scholie of only $250 back then, not enough even for my airfare, and a friend revealed that CCH didn't want kids going there for 'vacation';
LSU didn't like non-residents (those from MS and AL were bringing in too many drugs)

Both degrees from BYU. Not really by choice for grad school but it’s where we were for husband’s career.
