I served on a grand jury about 15 years ago in New York state. it was
interesting to see the variety of cases - but the majority of ours were for drunk driving.

By the end of the 2 weeks a decent number of our jury members were sick of these drunk driving cases or feeling compassion for these accused people and would not vote to indict. Once we had the judge call us all in together into another room to try to pressure us to indict on one of the cases. Maybe my fellow jury members were drinkers so had more pity for the people who had been caught driving drunk. Despite the judge's threats, the jury did not get enough votes to indict.

There was also a drunk driving case at the end where this little group almost got our jury to vote no true bill so that state would have been prohibited from bringing charges. But at least some of us were still voting for so it ended up being split and at least the state could try again with the next grand jury. (In my opinion the evidence was a slam dunk for drunk driving, so should have been easy vote to indict.)
