What he had hoped within the constructs of BYU recruiting limitations. It’s pretty clear his game plan was to bet on his ability to recruit big name talent here and he’s struggled to do that. If he doesn’t feel like altering his strategy then it’s probably not going to work out long term.
If he’s gone it’s not because he was pushed to resign it’s because he decided the fit with BYU wasn’t what he hoped it would be.
