Slots. With the SEC, ACC and B12 there are only about 13 slots left and that would be the 25% linear. To do 50% linear they would have to kick off their currently contracted teams. That makes no sense. Do the math people. Would that limited inventory even guarantee that each team was on live TV even once a year?
The fact is that with just 3 teams from the PAC joining the B12 ESPN could fill all those time slots. Which is better pay 3 teams or pay 10 teams?
The best hope for the PAC is actually to have the BIG take a few more schools and put it out of existence. And ESPN probably has some language in the contract about membership. If schools leave the deal is off the table
