American Airlines with the proactive customer service win. I have status with AAdvantage but don’t travel quite as much
since COVID. This last status qualification year I had a flight literally in the last week of qualification time to maintain my level with American. I miscalculated the miles I’d get for that flight and ended up 13 miles short of qualifying to maintain the status.

I had planned to call in this month to see if they’d forgive the shortfall, I do have some flight credits I didn’t use last year but have paid for so I was hoping they’d be kind. But before I could call in… okay, I was procrastinating to the last possible moment… I received an email saying I’d been extended for another year. Somehow American ran a report on “close but no cigar” customers or a kind agent saw the shortfall and took care of it.

Kudos to the best airline in America that serves the airport nearest me.
