I'm not sure that was a slight to ASU (any more than it was to USC)
Saying that ASU isn't as big a brand/program as USC might be a touch disrespectful, but it's also pretty obvious to everyone.
Saying that "even in the worst case scenario, they'd still be ASU" as if it's a good thing means that there's some level of respect for ASU.
Altimore's comments are clearly dumb and wrong... but I don't think they're an attack on ASU
