wings and guards as well. We've typically had a really good scoring PG - but not the type you need in the tourney. Thinking Barcello, Jimmer, etc. Dudes that can score - but a lot of the time cannot create their own shot or for others. We've lacked wings that can guard 1-5 and can't play good enough defense to get the big stops you need to win tournament games. They also can't get to the rim and finish - which is what the tournament is all about.
We also have struggled to get guys that can go 1-on-1 and penetrate. K State's little guard last night absolutely destroyed MSU on dribble drives. His ability to break down a defense changed everything. FAU against the "best" defense in the tourney in Tenn last night as well. Over and over, they could get that step and break down the defense. Dribble penetration is the key to winning in the tournament. We really, really struggle at it.
