Never seen anything quite like it. I had no idea there even were that many elk in those hills. Hundreds. Just out in the farmers' fields eating whatever they put out for the cows. There's literally no other way to reach food for them. Usually elk like to stay away from people but they are just hanging out next to the road so they can eat the vegetation under the snow melt from the salt/sand they put on the roads. Giant bulls everywhere, the kind you normally have to hike in 10 miles just to get a glimpse of.
