Didn't even consider that point, but I'm going back and adding it now
8 PAC teams playing in Week 0 means that they would just dominate that week and get a spotlight on the conference to start the year

Great points. B12 should offer Hawaii that deal.

Geographically the PAC has an advantage there... but yes, the Big 12 could (and probably should) do the same

The Big 12 could get in 5 time zones!

I agree. The PAC could broadcast it's Week 0 games all day long on major

I know it used to be when you played at Hawaii you could schedule one extra home

Not specific to home/away, just that you can play a 13th game

They should offer the same deal to SDSU.

SDSU doesn't bring the same advantages as Hawaii - there's no SDSU Rule

I think offering 6 games a year at ~$6M would be better. It’s not a good TV slot

Yeah, I'd be open to that instead. There's clearly specifics to be worked out... but the basic framework is there

I’d be fine with 6 games at $8M I suppose, but it’s not my money…

If you put it in the afternoon in Hawaii, it's the late spot that the Big 12

Why do you think Hawaii home games are worth so little now but would be worth more after a scheduling agreement?

BYU games were worth $5M/yr, but give us better opponents and now they're worth $32M/yr

Anyone source that you are receiving that BYU was only getting $5 million a year should be dropped immediately.

That was for 2019-2020... and it was from BYU's financial report that BYU released

Hawaii is in a very bad position

Yup, which is kind of a double-edged sword, but everything you said is arguably a reason to do this

I don’t disagree with you I just think Hawaii has shot itself in the foot because of poor planning

Right now yes but a new 35K stadium will be built on the Aloha Stadium grounds

That is actually a really good idea and would be a win-win

Interesting for sure. How do they get 8 home games per year from PAC schools?

Correct, Hawaii would very rarely go on the road
