We've done away games closer to home (live in South Dakota), but that ASU game is the only game our kids have been able to root for the home team. It was an amazing experience for so many reasons (my 12 year old daughter looked at me and said, "Dad, I NEED to be in that student section some day. I guess I'll just have to work hard enough to go to school here."). We were able to get to the victory bell and my 6 y/o helped Lopa and Mason Wake ring it first. Solid memories that make fans for life.
But my kids still talk about the superman punch and Tyler Allgeier will always be my 6 y/o's favorite player. Tyler makes it into his imaginary play all the time, no matter what the context of the game is...batman toys, floor is lava, Tyler Allgeier shows up--usually with a super-punch for some bad guy.
We picked a great game to attend. The only one that would have been better would have been beating the Utes that year.
