So in a man defense, which is what pope likes, if you can't defend it creates problems within the defense. A physical
guard creates problems for defenses, especially when you can't stay in front of them. If you didn't notice last year, minutes were given based a lot on defense or lack thereof. If this was Jimmer we were talking about you make exceptions. Ashworth would be a homeless mans Jimmer.
PS I dont think Ashworth is a bad player and could help BYU. But he isn't the starting PG on BYU right now.
