My neighbor volunteered for the 70.3 as well and said he was amazed by the guy

who won it. I think he said his MPH ave for the cycling was 28 or something like that which is insane for a race that long and with pretty strong headwinds I guess

My neighbor didn't do it this year, but he's an inspiration to me. He did the full distance last year and has a done a number of them in his life.
He's in his early 60s.

Also inspiring to me is the guy who runs the Utah Velo Club. He just turned 83 two weeks ago and did a century ride on Thursday with another planned this week.

Hoping I'm half the cyclist he is when I'm his age.

Excited to hear about your friend's progress!
