Yes, he will probably be “in active quote for much of the year but I doubt they put him on the practice squad because that means another team can grab him

The likelihood is small. Unless he supplants the QB2, he'll probably get relegated to the practice squad midseason

I do know how it works, and a player can only be claimed off another teams PS if the player isn't protected
