One of the most important things for me as a coach is to play teams that are better than we are. Its the only way to
get better. I coach a lower level high school team(our school is a tiny charter with only 200 high school students) but we punch above our weight class. But we play RSL 2 times every year and we play Wasatch academy twice and American heritage 2A team besides our regular games. Back to back state champs and we attribute that to playing teams way better than us 4-6 times every year. The only way to get better is to play better teams. BYU may be in for a few tough years but we will get better. We have a good coach and a good culture and I fully believe we will be competitive this year and in a few years we will be able to compete for a conf title every few years. Being in a really good conference will be really good for BYU.

Spoelstra said it himself last night speaking about the Celtics, sometimes you have to have that opponent who beats you and makes you get better to reach the level you want to be at. Without an opponent like that sometimes you just can't get to that next level.
