Methodology: Average scores of three websites - The Daily Texan, bookies.com, Road to CFB.

"Live music is everywhere, and the ample bars and entertainment options offer a vibe found nowhere else in the conference. Tailgating is not centralized but it’s everywhere. No Big 12 locale ranked higher in overall location or in total entertainment." -bookies.com

"The introduction of Bevo Boulevard has helped the pregame festivities and overall vibe on campus heading into games. Moving to the SEC will only create more premier matchups that will morph the national perception of a Texas crowd." -Dave Campbell's Texas Football

"The best way to describe the sheer size of DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium is that, from the upper 100s section, I was able to watch a thunderstorm pass over San Marcos– over 30 freaking miles away." -Road to CFB

"A vibrant entertainment scene is only a half-mile down the road, and an ample row of diverse restaurants begins just five minutes from the front gates. Tailgating options around Jones AT&T Stadium aren’t bad, though we’ve heard it can be tough to get a spot unless you’re lucky or a generous donor.
Raider Alley was a huge boost to Texas Tech’s family rating, offering games and activities for kids, live music and a pregame pep rally. Pregames in Lubbock ranked sixth or better in all four categories, one of just two schools to accomplish that feat." -bookies.com

"Tech easily has the most relentless football student section in the Big 12. Whether the Red Raiders are winning or not, this crowd won’t hesitate to come early, stay late and bring demoralizing signs, unabated jeers and flying tortillas like none other in the conference." - The Daily Texan

"A night game in Lubbock against a rival team like Texas or Baylor or TCU is hard to beat." -Dave Campbell's Texas Football

"Milan Puskar Stadium has some of the best single-game day traditions in the Big 12. Once a year, fans wear blue and gold to stripe the stadium based on their section to create a vibrant atmosphere. Throw in a rowdy tailgating experience and an even rowdier student section, both of which create an intimidating road trip for opponents." -The Daily Texan

" ...Mountaineers fans know how to tailgate. The Blue Lot, normally used for the adjacent hospital and medical facilities, becomes the capital of tailgating and is up there with any of the top spots in the country. No shock, then, that WVU ranked No. 1 in the Big 12 in that aspect." -bookies.com

"Gameday at the Union gave a boost to the family sentiment, as does a spirited pep rally that’s memorable for all ages. The Walk, where fans line the streets as the head coach leads the players, cheerleaders and band into Boone Pickens Stadium, is an experience. OSU ranked No. 3 in Big 12 tailgating – no small feat in this conference." -bookies.com

"The Cowboys have one of the best traditions in football, the “Paddle People,” who bring wooden paddles to every home game and slam them against the field’s inside wall. These fans look for any excuse to get rowdy. The fact that the fans are practically stacked on top of the sidelines also makes for a chaotic atmosphere." -The Daily Texan

"The house that legendary head coach Bill Snyder built is a nerve-wracking stadium for ranked opponents." -The Daily Texan

"... it’s fun and full of great eats. K-State fans are often considered some of the most welcoming. That’s why KSU ranked No. 2 in the Big 12 in both tailgating and in family sentiment." -bookies.com

"I thoroughly believe it'd make a perfect movie stadium, since it's believable as a professional venue, but no one would be able to pin which one." -Road to CFB

"The move from Floyd Casey to McLane Stadium unlocked the potential of game day experiences at Baylor. The stadium, originally called Baylor Stadium, sits at the north bank of the Brazos River and is one of the only college football stadiums in the country where fans can arrive via boat. Fans can “sailgate” in the Baylor Basin prior to the game. The location of McLane also allows students to walk from campus to the game. Freshmen at Baylor form the “Baylor Line” in which they dash across the field to welcome in the team before every single home game." -Dave Campbell's Texas Football

"The 50-year-old tradition of the Baylor Line behind the visiting bench has consistently badgered opposing teams since 1970, even when the stadium’s overall attendance has been lacking. Its non-student crowd leaves something to be desired, but its students are pulling their part." -The Daily Texan

"Some of the most breathtaking views at any college football stadium can be found at LaVell Edwards Stadium, with the Rocky Mountains surrounding the stadium." -collegegridirons.com

"No alcohol is allowed in the tailgate lot or on the BYU campus. This should not surprise you. It is Brigham Young University. They don’t allow tobacco products, either. If your tailgating experiences have all been at southern universities, this rule will probably be a bit alien to you. Still, if you can’t have a good time at a BYU tailgate, it means you just need to exercise your imagination a little harder!" -Tailgater Concierge

"We have had a hard time getting people to the game early,” Holmoe said. “We have a great tradition of college football, but we call it the ‘Mormon Miracle’ where they come like five minutes before the game, all of a sudden everyone’s there. They’re not there two hours before the game.” -The Athletic

"TCU has tried to spoof up its game day atmosphere throughout the years with various renovation projects, but still has a difficult time exciting the crowd for anything less than a game with Big 12 Championship implications." -The Daily Texan

"Tailgating is done more in small groups than in one huge swath of humanity, but you can get the college atmosphere feel nonetheless. There aren’t many lots for regular people, and they fill fast. The mammoth “frog horn” sees to it that you remember it’s gameday. There is a relatively new “Frog Alley” that adds to pregame fun for all ages. That’s why TCU ranked among the highest for families." -bookies.com

"...the small student basis and overall crowd field isn't top-tier. The facility really holds its own water here." -Road to CFB

"And credit to Cyclone fans, this place is usually full on any given Saturday. Iowa State's seen a period of prolonged success under Matt Campbell and the fans are into it. However, Jack Trice doesn't hold that noise in too well due to its design, so it's not the loudest place in the world." -Road to CFB

"Jack Trice Stadium is surrounded by parking lots. Rain or shine or snow, tailgating begins early and goes until as close to kickoff as possible. Iowa State doesn’t have a long history of success, but fans still get up for games. Tailgating was the only category in which Iowa State didn’t finish last." -bookies.com

"Of course, the Bounce House has a couple key components to it. For one, the atmosphere is absolutely insane. Frankly, it’s the best atmosphere in the conference right now. Plus, the name Bounce House does come from reality. The stadium bounces up and down, which is objectively unique to UCF in the conference and college football on the whole." -SBNation Underdog Dynasty

"Nippert stadium is one of the most unique venues in all of college football, making it a can’t miss for AAC fans. Just don’t pretend to paint the entire field black again." -SBNation Underdog Dynasty

"Kansas is notorious for being one of the worst football programs in the last decade, and its football atmosphere has reflected it. Since 2013, the Jayhawks have only had one home game that exceeded 80% capacity and regularly struggle to fill half the stadium." -The Daily Texan

"There is no real nearby scene at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, parking for tailgating is fairly pretty limited and the students aren’t known for their football pregame debauchery. Lawrence, however, often gets high reviews as a college town. " -bookies.com

"New and objectively a very nice stadium, Houston’s TDECU Field is so easy to forget for me that it got docked a number of points for not being unique or iconic enough. The stadium, while nice, also doesn’t stand out as more beautiful than any other stadium. However, there is still plenty to like here. The facilities and amenities are new and really good for guests. Add in a great atmosphere once the Cougars start winning again, and TDECU is a great place to see a game." -SBNation Underdog Dynasty
