4K HDR on iTunes is near 4K bluray video quality, but audio is noticeably worse.
Like you said, you’re only licensing the content from them even when you “purchase” the movie. They can alter the movie whenever they want to.
And if the servers go down during the zombie apocalypse, all those digital purchases will disappear but I’ll be watching my blurays (via my plex server) in my bunker.
