Is that the USA team was at 20 and wanted to make a two-pointer rather than a one-pointer so they would score 22 and have more total points. Did the same thing in their last game. In case of ties it's important to be the team with the most points.

So Austria cut the margin and finally USA just went ahead and scored the winning point to settle for 21.

Lot of different rules for 3x3. Which I know nothing about. Just listening to the announcers who don't seem to know much about it either.
