The downside is it's extremely expensive, though they can be had used significantly cheaper than new. It's made of DCF/Dyneema (Cuben Fiber), so it'll last a very long time and is extremely weatherproof. Also very windproof when pitched low. It's also 111"x111", so tons of space and fits 3-4 people comfortably. It pitches in minutes. I have a carbon fiber center pole for mine, and even with that, my whole system is 2.5 lbs (just over 3 if I take the mesh insert). I take it backpacking regularly, and it's hard to beat the weight to size ratio that you get with it. It does need to be staked, so it's not a freestanding tent, but that's never been an issue for me. I got mine used, and saved quite a lot over buying one new. The other tents I own rarely get used since I bought the HMG.
