Yes, there are only three ingredients, but there’s still a knack to having them turn out perfectly. I like just a tad less butter in mine, and I’m careful to go easy on the amount of Rice Krispies. I like to have them turn out a little on the gooey side (dry Rice Krispy treats aren’t worth eating). And I never pour the Rice Krispies into the batter as soon as the marshmallows melt. I let the batter cool and thicken slightly first.
