I was a BYU fan from the 80's when I was a small child with season tickets, which is an easy time like the team that basically always won almost every game. I also always cheered for Utah when they weren't playing for BYU and thoroughly enjoyed the run to the championship in basketball in the 90's.

Then I attended Utah after my undergrad at BYU and felt annoyed with the professors at the U, I felt embarrassed for my fellow students when watching games in the MUSS (I get having a few drinks, but total debauchery is something else), then the whole P12 invite/President Young thing happened (I was actually aware of that when it happened somehow, but not sure how I heard), then Utah put up the P12 Country billboards that I thought were embarrassing, Dr. Hill hosed BYU in scheduling that I thought was petty, then Coach 80K cancelled a return basketball game because he knew he would lose, which was childish, and KW spent over a decade negative recruiting against BYU (his alma mater) and every indication is those strategies actually worked. So that basically turned me away from ever cheering for Utah.

I now prefer to see Utah lose in basically any game they play (although I'm indifferent if their loss hurts out SOS in a meaningful way). I will honestly laugh my freaking head off if the entire P12 dissolves and Utah ends up back in the MWC. I'm not really a hater, but I definitely wouldn't cherish a deep run in the NCAA tournament by Utah the way I did back in the 97-98 season.
