It was ESPN and Fox agreeing to pay more money if they didn’t add teams

They had a pro rata clause they were going to exercise and then give the new teams way less than a full share to increase their own income. The media companies gave them what would have been their new cut and then didn’t have to pay what would have gone to the new schools
