I’m not an insulation expert. But I do know mixing insulation types is not alway
s the best idea.

We did RetroFoam on our house because it was just insulated so poorly from the initial build. The difference in RetroFoam vs. the original Fiberglass is unreal. We have saved so much money.

If I ever build a house, the one area I would never skimp is insulation. If energy costs become more expensive, which they will, or access to heating/cooling ever becomes scarce, insulation will more than pay for itself. And it is way easier to install on new build than retro.

Not sure if $16k is a good or bad deal, but my favorite phrase is “Is that the best you can do?” Just don’t be a cheapskate.
