True story. I’m on call at the hospital today. I went to go see the patient.
As I walked in, his elderly wife stopped me and said, “Before you take my husband, are you a BYU fan or Utah fan?”
I've never been asked that in this kind of setting and it caught me off guard. I paused for a second. “Well, I went to both schools. But I’m a BYU fan.”
She looked me up and down, and said, “well we’re Utah fans. Can I trust you to take good care of my husband?”
I assured her that I indeed could. Her husband told her to knock it off. And off we went to the operating room.
