The Fire Protection Association has a set of guidelines for stove, fireplace,
and insert installation.

That fireplace doesn't meet those guidelines. It is far too close to combustible materials for wood burning. Wood will burn much hotter than the gas settings on that unit. Every single insurance company would deny home insurance coverage on that unit burning wood.
