I haven't recovered from last year where we lost power in Eagle Mountain twice and living just 2 doors down from a traffic light watched as 80% of the drivers didn't bother to stop at the flashing red light. The 2nd time, after a bit, a county sheriff parked about 20 yards from the intersection and suddenly there was 100% compliance with what drivers were supposed to do (per law you are to treat all malfunctioning lights as stop signs). I was astonished, that given the ability, that many of our Utah drivers would disregard that law that they apparently knew and do as they wanted. The amount of people that run red lights and do so a few seconds after the light changed, is very scary. There does need to be a crack down because people generally won't police themselves.
Distracted drivers abound and are very, very scary. People will not stop from texting while driving. They know it is blatantly wrong, but it's the ol' "nothing will happen to me" mindset.
