Supply is the biggest problem. 6 million houses short.
And economics and laws are prohibitive to building houses. Especially smaller houses.

So now you have a generation who can’t afford a house but want one.

The government could incentivize building houses.

Also, the low interest rates stop people from moving because they can’t afford even the same house, or any house.

It could take 20 to 30 years to work itself out and normalize which means this generation loses out on home ownership.

So some people may move to less populated areas, or you’ll see them try to change laws and get organized to build more homes by changing zoning and fees or limiting investment groups from owning houses and stuff like that.


Unless there’s a depression, housing is not getting cheaper.
