Had never given radon a thought until my father-in-law bought a radon detector and it read my kids' bedrooms in the basement were at a 9, and in the common area of the basement it reads around 4.6.

Apparently anything over a 4 is supposed to be bad. Anyone use a mitigation company they like and somewhat reasonable? Have seen costs of mitigation around $2k being somewhat normal.
