Despite all the talk of how Mason and his family are anti-BYU, he’d be closer to picking them than you may expect. Dallin Hall is one of his best friends and they played aau together in high school.

The reason Mason committed to the U and then later USU is because he never had a basketball (he had a football) scholarship offer from BYU. That is it.

The main reason he is unlikely to come back is not out of spite but out of logic. He would be competing against Dallin Hall, Richie Saunders, Collin Chandler, and Dawson Baker. That would not be appealing to ANY newcomer unless they were clearly better imo.
