Guitar guys. On an acoustic guitar, can you change the
nut (and if needed, the saddle) to modify the strings relative to the edge of the fretboard? And if so, can most guitar techs do this or is it a difficult modification?

Notice the distance from the edge of the fretboard to the lower and upper E strings. With the second guitar, I often cant get the high E to ring out as the pad on my 1st finger contacts it. I love everything else about this guitar except this. Its a Martin BTW.
