My biggest regret was not seeing the movie earlier this month... Couldn't find it playing in IMAX near me. Still a pretty incredible film. Going into the movie I had heard Zendya was the weakest part of the movie. I disagree, I was pleasantly surprised at how well she did. I thought the Emperor was the weakest part of the movie. Overall I give the movie a 8.5 out of 10. Visually stunning movie. I know some didn't like the end, but I thought it was really good. I thought Timothy did extremely well in this. I liked some of the changes made by Denis. I thought it was a good story arch for Paul to reluctantly drink the water of life. That he did it because it was the only way to defeat the HarKonnen and Emperor. My favorite character was probably Stilgar. The end definitely ended on a cliff hanger and it seems that we will get Dune Messiah.

I have very mixed feelings about that... Partly because Paul is the reason that billions of people are killed because of his holy war. Dune Messiah doesn't have a very happy ending... Paul loses Chani and heads out into the desert blind... But then again Dune Part 2 didn't really have a traditional hero's journey ending in joy and happiness.

Maybe Denis Villeneuve will change some things in Dune Messiah and make it not so depressing
