As good as BYU would be next year they would still have issues at center. Khalifa and Fous are both great but can’t play together.

Khalifa and JR leave with Pope. Atiki and Stewart are pushed out by Madsen who is the new coach. Atiki would still be here if pope stayed. Madsen keeps Fueger and Robinson which helps with player retention and this is possible because there’s more assistants allowed now.

Madsen gets a legit center out of the portal because he’s great at developing bigs. We get a solid wing or two and suddenly this team is better than what we’d have under pope. Plus we no longer live and die by the three.
