What do Mark Pope, Mark Madsen, Chris Burgess, and even Dave Rose all have in
common?
Every single one of them either turned down BYU or wanted nothing to do with BYU as players out of high school.
I don’t know that it means anything, but it is interesting. There really aren’t ANY former BYU basketball players in major college coaching, whereas there are tons of former BYU football players coaching college football as head coaches or assistants.
