Bottom line is that there are 5-8 jobs in both CFB and CBB that you just say yes
to no matter what.
In CBB it’s Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, UNC, UCONN and maybe UCLA or Mich St or AZ
In CFB it’s Bama, GA, ND, Ohio State, Mich, USC, Texas and probably a couple of others.
And with Pope being an alum…he probably told them on Day 1 he was interested and after they gauged interest with a couple of other candidates wanted to get it done fast.
