Duke wasn’t a blue blood when K took over
They had some decent success in the 60s but no titles. Blue bloods win titles. K had a title as an assistant. Pope never did anything close to that at BYU or WF.

Army hasn’t even been to an NIT since he was there as a HC. UVU was better under Madsen within 3 years of Pope leaving.

Villanova did have a title and it was the lowest seed to win in the modern era. That makes you a blue blood? Nova was a consistent tournament team before him and elevated to a potential blue blood 15 years after. I think they need a few titles in the next 10 before they actually are a blue blood.

Jay Wright won two conference titles and made the NCAA at HOFSTRA. They haven’t been to the tournament since and 1977 was the last time they were in. He also had way more success as an assistant than Pope.

Two titles isn’t really enough to make you a blue blood but they have had a lot of final fours under Izzo. Only two before. So two final fours and 1 title IMO definitely puts you outside of being a blue blood.

Izzo probably has the weakest resume of the three. He got the job after being a MSU assistant to the guy who won them a title for 12 years. 2 sweet 16s and a Big 10 title. Still more success as an assistant than Pope had
