I don’t understand so many people sitting here as the person who just got dumped
hoping for success to the guy that just dumped us for a hotter girlfriend. Yes, it’s awesome for Pope. He is living his dream. I understand why he left, but it doesn’t mean I want him to be successful.
I am not a fan of any of the blue bloods and I hope they all lose lots of games. I hope Pope loses lots of games too now. BYU may not compete head to head for many recruits, but last time I checked, BYU does compete head to head with Kentucky, Duke, Baylor, Texas (etc.) on the court.

I want what is best for BYU, and right now there is a lot of uncertainty. Maybe BYU finds a better coach. Maybe not. I don’t think Pope was the best in-game decision maker. But the momentum Pope had going was obvious, and now it’s gone, and he is out making out with his hot new girlfriend while BYU is sitting home looking at old high school yearbooks.

Let’s hope BYU can quickly find a great replacement and stop the negative vibe that is currently in place.

I’ve been a BYU fan my entire life and don’t plan on changing. I want what’s best for BYU.

Now if Pope went to coach a pro team or got called as a mission president, I would be very happy for him and want him to be successful. But that’s not the case. He dumped BYU.
