Could you imagine if all BYU coaching positions were callings and that all
the brethren had to do was bring in the coach and ask them to accept the call? Man, that would be great. Just think of the coaches BYU could have over time. Assume for these purposes, the expectation would be something similar to being a bishop or stake president (so you could have them for 5-10 years).

What about this football staff: Andy Reid (HC), Kellen Moore (OC), John Beck (QB), Darrell Bevell (WR), Garrett Tujugue (OL), Robert Anae (TE), Mark Atuaia (RB); Whitt (DC), Jay Hill (DB), Kelly Poppinga (LB), Bronco (DT), Scalley (DE). I know Bronco and Scalley didn’t play DT/DE, but they could could be great position coaches anywhere. And Anae and Tujugue could we swapped (I know Anae coached the TEs for part of his time as OC). There are some good coaches who have been left off here: Jason Beck, A-Rod, Fesi, Justin Ena, Po’uha, Harvey, etc.

Here’s for basketball: Pope (HC), Madsen, Burgess, Alex Jensen, and Kevin Young as assistants.

These staffs would be fire. I’m sure I’m missing other candidates too. What would your staffs look like? They’d have to be active enough that they’d accept the call to service.
