He coaches a very fun style of basketball. The “downside” is that it is team basketball. If he can get the buy in from his players to be selfless and a team player he is going do very well.
Imagine this years BYU team but with 4 and 5 star players.
One thing I’ve loved about pope is he knows when to praise a player. I remember a game where a few players had a great game stat wise. Seljaas had a quiet good game defensively and pope spent more time praising seljaas for his game than the guys who got stats.
IMO, that type of coaching is what helps pope succeed and he’s going to win a championship in less than 3 years.
