1) Because I want coaches who have a little bit of success at BYU to think twice about the grass being greener on the other side.
2) We have good players entering the portal and his exit is hurting us. It hurts us more in this environment than any previous time. BYU didn’t need Pope. He gave us nothing. We would have been better off hiring someone else who would be more loyal. Coach loyalty will be more important in the NIL age where players have zero loyalty.
3) I don’t blame him for leaving but I think he was being fake about BYU being special and what he wanted to do here.
