I have never been to a professional barber outside my mission, and that was in Albania. I don't think it applies, but I just showed up and paid what they asked. My entire life, my mother, then my sister, then my wife have cut my hair. It has always been satisfactory.
But then, I got this sweet coupon in the mail with a free "MVP Haircut Experience" at Sport Clips. So I figured, why not try a professional and see how it is different.
If it is customary to tip the barber though, obviously the coupon isn't going to cover that. What is expected here, and what is protocol? Is there a tip jar or something, or do I have to hand them some cash (that feels awkward)?
Any help for this professional haircutting noob?
