nonconference opponents likely not announced for another month or two. last year
had UCLA and St. Louis as two big challenging games and then 6 regional/local opponents. U of U moves off the non-conference slate onto the conference slate.

Last year had UVU, USU, and Boise away, so I assume those are each continuing deals where BYU has them at home this season.

Of course BYU was awesome last season but got a lot of RPI mileage out of nonconference wins over UCLA and St. Louis.

I hope BYU is really good this year, but perhaps in a rebuilding year they go back to being a bubble-type team. In that case, a few challenging non-conference games would be good for the SOS.

From Massey computer polls, the last-season Massey rankings of each upcoming conference opponent were 15, 26, 46, 54, 55, 59, 65, 98, 104, 105, 139 We miss Colorado who was ranked 28 last season and is a usual tournament team. Texas Tech had an outlier year for them of excellence, so I guess they drop back some from last season. That is a good but not elite conference.
