wondering if there's more truth to them than many of us wanted to believe. I liked what I saw of Pope, but I'm not one that follows all the interviews and tries to read tea leaves or read between the lines to delve into the psyche of our coaches. However, there were several rumors of Pope rubbing people the wrong way in terms of AAU coaches, maybe the Wasatch Academy coach, former players that felt slighted after being asked to move on, etc.

Now that Pope left so quickly he may have suffered whiplash (and the way he did so with no farewell), I'm thinking there was probably more substance to those rumors than I wanted to believe. Anybody know for sure if he met with players prior to dashing out the door and if so what's reported to have been said or how the team took it?

If today's rumor (purported to be 100% confident) is true that he's trying to poach some of our players, that definitely does affect my opinion of him on multiple fronts.
