Also I want a “BYU guy” that will put up with any crap no matter whats going on in the ADs office, and that will get paid significantly less than his counterparts in the league or other comparable leagues, has less resources, NIL money, and not complain and the challenges of running a program with all the BYU quirks.

I want someone who will be very successful in the regular season and in the tournament and turn down any offers that inevitably comes his way no matter the dollar amount and advantages another school has while doing the same job, and doesn’t have to deal with the honor code, RMs, academics, etc.

They better never say the wrong thing or omit saying the right thing and their timing better be right, and would it kill them to be funny? They better win games nobody expects to and never lose games everybody expects them to.


*BYU guy means whatever I feel like it means in the moment, maybe it means a BYU grad with relative success, maybe it means someone who didn’t go to BYU but coached long enough to be in the top 30 all time in wins for the sport over 29 seasons and invent a new offense that is lauded, maybe it’s both, maybe it’s blind loyalty to BYU no matter the circumstances, and there should be several candidates to choose from
