There was a lot of hype around the Lone Peak 3, Demarcus Harrison, back in the day, Ryan Cuff, Chris Burgess, and countless others. We have watched many an athlete walk away, it hasn't been great for really anyone. WE have to be competitive in NIL, but BYU will always be different. Some years, we get the Elijah Bryants, Alex Barcellos and Chase Fishers. We have gotten fortunate a lot lately, as the portal has become more prominent. Jaxon, Noah, Aly, and others have really been nice finds. With that, because one and done type guys will never really want to be at BYU, we need a plan to build continuity on a roster, as much as you can, and own the top LDS recruits, and hope that we get a coach who falls in love with what we are, and what we represent! BYU is a special place, I have heard kid after kid, and coach after coach say it, if it is, and it sure was for me, and saved my wife ( another story for another day ). How do we better tell that story, in the day of NIL, and the current what can you do for me mentality?
