I’m starting to see why Pope rubs some people the wrong way. Lots of high achievers are like him: focus entirely on what’s best for them, without much consideration for how their ladder climbing affects the feelings or goals of other people. Most of us know people like this. It seems that Pope is one of them. We were a rung on the ladder to him; nothing more.
